Every flag, and what to ask.
Red flags and missing basics first, biggest first. Green flags are the good bits that pull the score down.
How this works.
Your text is checked against 16 plain-English rules, right here in your browser. Red flags and missing basics add to the score, green flags take points off, and the score is clamped between 0 and 100.
Red flags
Buzzword jargon, vanity metrics, guaranteed-result promises, long minimum terms, hard exits and auto-renewals. Repeats add a little extra, up to a limit. Vanity metrics weigh less if the text also talks about conversions, revenue, ROI or similar outcomes.
Missing basics
Each of these adds to the score when it's absent: tracking or attribution, named deliverables, a reporting cadence, and actual pricing.
Green flags
KPIs and targets tied to revenue, a defined scope, month-to-month terms, tracking setup, and you owning your accounts. Each one takes points off.
Limits, and your privacy
This is keyword matching, not judgement. A good agency can trip a rule and a slippery one can dodge it, so treat the score as a prompt for questions, not a verdict on the agency. The score and verdicts are our own heuristic; no industry statistics are used or implied. The whole check runs in your browser and your pasted text is never sent to Firestarter or anyone else.
